About The Position

This role focuses on providing care for surgical patients in an observation setting. The nurse will implement and adapt individualized care strategies to meet the specific recovery needs of surgical patients, ensuring all clinical actions align with safety protocols and organizational standards. The nurse will continuously evaluate patient stability and recovery progress, proactively communicating changes in condition to the medical team to prevent complications and ensure rapid intervention. They will serve as the central point of contact for the entire healthcare team, coordinating various specialists and services to ensure the patient receives cohesive, well-timed treatment. The nurse will accurately interpret and carry out physician and nursing directives to maintain the momentum of the patient’s treatment plan and recovery schedule. Additionally, the nurse will assess and manage discharge requirements from the moment of admission, collaborating with the team to ensure patients have the resources and education needed for a safe return home.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
  • Hospital experience.
  • Medsurg, Critical Care, PACU or ED experience.

Responsibilities
