Registered Nurse - Surgical ICU - 36 Hours - Midnights
About The Position
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. Acts as a patient advocate while utilizing the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needs. The unit is a 12-bed surgical intensive care unit. The patient population is a mix of post-surgical, post neurosurgical, and trauma. The unit also serves neuro patients. Patients who receive mechanical thrombectomy or IV thrombolytics are admitted here.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
- 1-2 years of nursing experience
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
