Deliver Post-Operative Critical Care Provide safe, high-quality care to critically ill surgical patients Manage complex post-operative cases across multiple surgical specialties Perform detailed patient assessments and monitor for clinical changes Develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented care plans Deliver age-appropriate care for adult surgical populations. Collaborate Across Surgical Teams Partner with surgeons, anesthesiology, APPs, and interdisciplinary teams Communicate effectively in high-acuity, time-sensitive situations Educate patients and families on post-operative recovery and care plans Support a Flexible ICU Team Adapt quickly to varying patient assignments and acuity levels Maintain strong teamwork in a dynamic SICU environment Follow LHMC protocols, policies, and the ANA Code of Ethics Support regulatory compliance and readiness Maintain Clinical Excellence Practice using evidence-based surgical and critical care standards Maintain ICU competencies and clinical readiness Participate in ongoing education and skill validation

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of previous of Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required
  • Current Massachusetts registered Nurse license required
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
  • Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Critical Care and Telemetry experience preferred
  • ACLS certification preferred
