About The Position

Rutherford Regional Health System is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room team. The role supports perioperative care in a collaborative, fast-paced department with five operating rooms and a range of surgical services, primarily orthopedic and general surgery, as well as some OB/GYN procedures. Three operating rooms run full time. Team members may also float to Endoscopy. The department recently added the da Vinci Surgical System for robotic-assisted minimally invasive procedures.

The Registered Nurse provides safe, age- and procedure-appropriate care throughout the perioperative process, supports the surgical team, documents care, and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., plus one to two call shifts per week. A $20,000 sign-on bonus opportunity is offered.

Requirements

• Current North Carolina or compact state RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Associate’s degree in nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• One year of Operating Room RN experience preferred; candidates new to the OR may be considered based on overall experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments to ensure safe patient care.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and support efficient workflow.
• Provide age- and procedure-appropriate nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to deliver high-quality outcomes.
