About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery Bring your passion for Texas Health So We Are Better + Together. This is a PRN position with variable hours, and availability on Mondays and Tuesdays is preferred. The Surgery Department is a self-contained outpatient department providing pain management, endoscopy, and lithotripsy procedures. The role is responsible for preparing patients, performing procedures, and recovery in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. It offers great opportunities for cross-training and career development, with a strong Unit Based Council (UBC). The work schedule is Monday-Fridays, with no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s Degree of Nursing required
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advance Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree of Nursing preferred
  • Experience in a procedural area (pre, procedure, recovery) preferred
