About The Position

This Registered Nurse position in the Surgery Department at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery is a PRN (as needed) role with variable hours. The department specializes in pain management, endoscopy, and lithotripsy procedures. The role involves preparing patients, performing procedures, and managing recovery in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. It offers opportunities for cross-training and career development, with a strong Unit Based Council (UBC). The work schedule is Monday-Fridays, with no weekends or holidays. The Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery is an 18-bed physician-owned hospital known for its award-winning facility and boutique hotel-like setting, offering a wide range of surgical and diagnostic services.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s Degree of Nursing required
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advance Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree of Nursing preferred
  • Experience in a procedural area (pre, procedure, recovery) preferred
