About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor provides clinical leadership and oversight for nursing staff, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality resident care. This role is responsible for supervising and evaluating staff performance, leading care planning, administering complex nursing interventions, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards. The RN Supervisor serves as a key point of communication among residents, families, staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members while promoting a supportive and professional care environment.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • Graduate of accredited Nursing Program
  • Actively registered with the North Carolina Board of Nursing (or compact state), and in good standing
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • One year of relevant experience working in long-term care or assisted living
  • Advanced knowledge of nursing practices, medical terminology, infection control, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to guide and mentor nursing staff.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills, with competence in administering IV therapy, nutrition support, and complex treatments.
  • Ability to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized resident care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in supervision, coaching, and evaluation of staff performance, including delegation of assignments and corrective action as necessary.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with residents, families, physicians, staff, and external providers.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, providing leadership and initiating life-saving measures
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries, and resident rights while fostering a safe and supportive care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical supervision to licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality resident care in compliance with facility policies, standards of practice, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular resident rounds to assess care, identify changes in condition, and ensure appropriate interventions, initiating emergency and life-saving measures when necessary.
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapy, nutrition support, and treatments per physician orders, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized resident care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Review clinical data, resident records, and staff documentation for accuracy and completeness, providing follow-up and corrective action as needed.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and alignment of staff qualifications with resident needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment, ensuring compliance with infection control, safety, and resident rights protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, physicians, and external providers, addressing concerns, grievances, and care updates promptly.
  • Participate in performance appraisals, staff training, and disciplinary processes, providing feedback to management and supporting professional development of staff.
  • Facilitate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, coordinating with physicians, ancillary services, and families to ensure smooth transitions of care.
