Requirements

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If possessing an active temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (conditional offer of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees nursing services to ensure residents receive high quality care and support.
  • Supervises staff, coordinates care, and maintains a safe environment.
  • Guides staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care across multiple areas.
  • Supports collaboration among nursing staff, administration, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provides clear communication to residents, families, and staff while facilitating organizational updates.
  • Offers ongoing training, orientation, and performance guidance for nursing personnel.
  • Completes records, evaluations, and required reports while monitoring resident care quality.
  • Responds to critical situations and ensures resident safety during urgent events.
