Requirements

Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services; or Three years of experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventory of goods; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Post-high school education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years.

Able to perform essential job functions.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

Review purchase requests and prepare documents for goods, services, and vendor contracts
Contact vendors to obtain price quotes, place orders, and track shipments
Check procurement forms, bids, and supporting materials for completeness and accuracy
Maintain organized files with purchase requests, quotes, and required documentation
Assist staff by providing current information on state contracts for needed items
Prepare invitations for bid proposals, identify vendors, and review results to award purchases
