About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Registered Nurse Supervisor to join their team of medical professionals in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves managing all aspects of healthcare for individuals incarcerated in the Clark County Detention Center. As a Correctional Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the residents. You will also oversee nursing staff and operations, acting as a supervisor and coordinator. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to a diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

Requirements

  • Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within NV.
  • Must have a minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience within a healthcare setting, correctional healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.

  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates shift activities and performs a wide range of duties, including assessing patients, administering medications, managing emergencies, and ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.
  • Works cohesively with the HSA and DON in the coordination of the healthcare delivery system, as well as other functions within the facility.
  • Uses knowledge and expertise to ensure that nursing processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance and accreditation standards.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organization. Maintains clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes.
  • Conducts daily clinical rounds, providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services.
  • Coordinates, structures, implements, and guides the delivery of the nursing service program within the facility, including direct oversight, leadership, management, guidance, support, and evaluation of clinical performance by the LPNs, CNAs/MAs, EMTs, and RNs.
  • Assists with orientation and training activities of clinical personnel. Serves as a professional role model and mentor to motivate, develop, and retain nursing staff.
  • Understands and adheres to correctional facility security protocols, while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Works in accordance with the HSA and DON to fulfill the contractual requirements for the delivery of quality healthcare.
