About The Position
First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking Experienced L&D ICU, PACU and Telemetry RNs. This is a per diem position with high pay rates for local applicants only. The role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in fast-paced acute care environments. Responsibilities include assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, operating specialized equipment, collaborating with healthcare teams, performing advanced nursing skills, maintaining electronic medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, and providing patient/family education. Flexibility and professionalism are key when adapting to various clinical settings.
Requirements
- Local applicants only
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience
- At least 1 year of recent experience in one of the following specialties: ED, ICU, Telemetry
- Specialty RN positions will require additional credentialing
- Active RN License
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in fast-paced acute care environments
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in status
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment appropriate to unit assignment (e.g., cardiac monitors, ventilators, hemodynamic devices)
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Perform advanced nursing skills consistent with ICU, PCU, ED, or Cath Lab standards
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines
- Provide patient and family education as appropriate
- Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism when floating or adapting to various clinical settings
