About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Department at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse. The RN: Assess the condition of the patient receiving Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) services via nursing process through identification of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, communicating the plan of care, implementing appropriate nursing interventions and documenting and evaluating patient outcomes. Serve as a liaison and educational resource for Imaging/IR Services. Serve as a resource person to other members of the Radiology health care team. The role of the registered nurse within Imaging/IR services is multifaceted including, but not limited to delivery of nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and nursing care of patients in the IR Clinic. Administration of chemo as related to IR procedures, participation in On Call rotations and Charge role as determined by role and experience. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Valid Florida Registered Nurse License
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Three years of experience is required.
One year of relevant nursing experience required, preferably with PACU, ICU or Emergency Department clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred.
PALS preferred but must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and nursing care of patients in the IR Clinic.
Administer chemo as related to IR procedures.
Participate in On Call rotations and Charge role as determined by role and experience.
