This part-time Registered Nurse position is within the AMG Summit - General Administration department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, actively involving patients and families throughout their care continuum. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to achieve positive care outcomes. Upholding a culture of safety and continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes are crucial. The role may involve administering medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocols, and demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills to foster team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Professional development, required education, and maintaining certifications are expected. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making is paramount, along with respecting interdisciplinary roles and contributing to integrated, unbiased patient care. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel is required, as is maintaining accurate and timely EHR documentation. A significant aspect of this role is the potential requirement to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan and assessing data to identify patient-specific needs.
