About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Specialist in Infection Control at Ascension Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. The position is full-time, with working hours from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The specialist will be responsible for leading outbreak response, training hospital staff on safe hygiene and clean care methods, creating health policies, and reviewing patient data to identify and mitigate infection risks.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control required within 3 years of hire required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time hire.

Nice To Haves

• Certified in Infection Control (CIC) credential
• 3+ years of Infection Prevention experience with surgical background
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of hospital staff (Executive Leadership, Physicians, front line teams, nursing, etc.)
• Demonstrable accountability, critical thinking, follow-through, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Track and investigate infection clusters to stop the spread of germs quickly.
• Teach doctors and nurses safe hygiene and clean care methods.
• Write clear health policies based on current medical science and laws.
• Check daily reports to find and fix hidden infection risks.
