About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) to work nights. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team, collaborate in establishing patient goals, and evaluate progress. The position also requires furthering professional growth through learning activities as per Board of Nursing standards. The SICU is a 23-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, caring for critically ill surgical patients including those undergoing emergency general surgery, liver transplants, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, otolaryngology surgery, orthopaedics, and patients with multisystem organ failure or sepsis.

Requirements

At least 1 year of RN experience
Nursing degree
State or Compact License (TN license within 60 days of getting TN address even if compact license)
LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
Relevant Work Experience
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities
