About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Same Day Surgery Center at Aurora Sinai Medical Center is responsible for delivering individualized care using the nursing process. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. The RN will monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, collaborate with the healthcare team, and promote patient safety. They will also educate patients and families, coordinate care and discharge planning, lead and delegate effectively, and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Professional growth through ongoing education and participation in shared governance is also expected. This role is part of the One Advocate Nurse community, committed to exceptional clinical care, innovation, and inclusivity.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • 1-2 years of inpatient nursing med/surg, ICU or ED, or periop experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.
  • Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.
  • Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, competency completion, and participation in shared governance activities.
