About The Position

Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals. If you are a team player and eager to learn and grow your more critical nursing skills, this SDS unit has availability for nurses. We recover patients from a variety of procedure and surgical areas post-anesthesia. We are open Monday – Friday some on-call on the weekends and weeknights that is rotating with all staff. This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential. Patient Population/Diagnoses: OR Pre-op & Phase 2 recovery, ERCP Pre/Post, IR Pre/Post, CT/US Pre/Post, Endo Pre/Post. Number of Beds: 49 bays. Nursing skills gained: IV Starts, Patient Teaching/Education, Evidence Based Practice Changes, Teaching Facility. Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition: Magnet, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Protocols (ERAS), ERCP, Living Donor Kidney Program, Living Donor Liver Program. Unit Culture Highlights: NPG Committee, Healthy Work Environment Committee, Stress First Aid, Education Committee.

Requirements

  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
