About The Position

Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery Part Time Day Shift - TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital. This role offers a collaborative, collegial environment with strong nurse-physician partnerships, providing an opportunity to sharpen rapid assessment and decision-making skills in a fast-moving Same Day Surgery setting. Nurses have the autonomy to apply holistic, evidence-based nursing care across diverse patient populations and receive support for professional development, including BSN attainment and specialty certification. The culture prioritizes patient dignity, safety, and the voices of frontline nurses.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required)
  • New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. (Required)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience in Telemetry or ICU/Critical Care (Required)
  • Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex healthcare needs at various stages of the life cycle
  • Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Same Day Surgery or a similar setting is preferred
  • ACLS
  • PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing patient/family assessments and document per guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs and expected outcomes.
  • Provide safe, ethical, patient-centered care while supporting dignity, diversity, and autonomy.
  • Prioritize care based on patient condition and unit needs.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments; perform technical skills per policy.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and revise plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise delegated tasks and ensure quality care delivery.
  • Participate in organizational activities such as committees, staff meetings, and unit initiatives.
  • Support student learning and staff development; serve in leadership roles as needed.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and self-assessment.
  • Build collaborative, collegial relationships across the healthcare team.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for process improvement.
