About The Position

This is a contract Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) position based at a hospital in Orange, California. The role requires proficiency across multiple high-acuity surgical specialties and participation in on-call rotations covering general and kidney call schedules. The position is onsite. The schedule is listed as day shift, 4x10 hours, 12:30–20:00; the facility will also accept a 3x12 schedule. The RNFA performs scrub and circulating duties across assigned specialties and participates in an estimated eight days of on-call coverage during each six-week schedule. Call is split evenly across RNFAs. The assignment is three months, with a stated pay rate of $79.20–$83.20 per hour.

Requirements

At least 3 years of scrub and circulating experience.
Proficiency in robotics surgery.
Proficiency in bariatric surgery.
Proficiency in general surgery.
Proficiency in colorectal surgery.
Proficiency in ortho/spine surgery.
Proficiency in vascular surgery.
Proficiency in urology surgery.
Proficiency in gynecology surgery.
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship or takeover of sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Serve in an on-call rotation, estimated at eight days during a six-week schedule, with call split evenly across RNFAs.
Participate in weekday kidney call from 18:00 to 06:00.
Participate in Saturday and Sunday kidney call for 24 hours, from 06:00 to 06:00.
Participate in Saturday and Sunday general call from 07:00 to 17:00.
Participate in holiday general call from 07:00 to 17:00; there is no kidney call on holidays.
Perform scrub and circulating duties across assigned surgical specialties.
