About The Position

Meadowview Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an ER Services Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team, dedicated to making communities healthier. The ER is a 12-bed unit that provides direct patient care to critically ill adult patients. The role involves utilizing the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and adhering to the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Requirements

• Current Kentucky or compact state RN license
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire
• Handle with Care required within 30 days of orientation

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
