About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Main at Texas Health Allen is responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant other's need for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. The PACU is a fast-paced, high-volume department where the professional nurse demonstrates an understanding of basic human needs and recognizes and understands the patient’s affiliations. Texas Health Allen is an 88-bed acute-care hospital serving Collin County areas since 2000, specializing in various surgical and medical treatments, and holding multiple accreditations and certifications.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
At least 1 year of critical care experience as a registered nurse strongly preferred
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire Pref

Responsibilities
