About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Bon Secours’ Southern Virginia Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The nurse assesses patient status, implements clinical nursing interventions, develops and performs patient care plans to improve outcomes, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Requirements

• One year of RN experience.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred upon hire and must be obtained before providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, document in charts, and assess patient condition.
• Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to support achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
