About The Position

AffiniCare is hiring Registered Nurses to provide licensed staffing support to Care Initiatives’ 43 skilled nursing communities. Nurses travel to multiple Care Initiatives locations within their region to help cover open shifts and provide care in various skilled nursing settings. Schedules are flexible, with nurses able to choose preferred hours and facilities, subject to a minimum commitment of 16 hours per month. Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

The role provides direct nursing care to residents while supporting daily clinical operations, resident safety, and quality of care. Nurses administer medications and treatments, monitor residents’ conditions, document care, and work with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The position requires an active Iowa RN license and CPR certification, at least 12 months of verifiable RN experience, and the ability to travel between communities in the region while living within a reasonable driving distance of Care Initiatives communities.

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license.
• Active CPR certification.
• Twelve months of verifiable experience working as an RN.
• Ability to travel between multiple Care Initiatives communities within the region.
• Residence within a reasonable driving distance of Care Initiatives communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
• Support daily clinical operations on the unit while ensuring quality care and resident safety.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
• Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
• Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
• Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
• Travel to multiple Care Initiatives communities within the assigned region to assist with open shifts.
