About The Position

Texas Health Plano is hiring a Registered Nurse for its 22-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. The unit has a 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio and one patient care technician for every 10–11 patients. The role is full-time days, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., with weekend and holiday requirements. Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse is highly preferred. The nurse delivers patient care using the nursing process: assessing patients, planning and providing care, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also includes applying age-specific safety and infection-control measures, meeting patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintaining continuity of care across shifts, hospitals, and transfers out of the hospital. Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited nursing program or nursing diploma.
One year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of a registered nurse residency program.
Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred.

Responsibilities
