About The Position

Texas Health Plano is seeking a full-time day-shift Registered Nurse for its 22-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. The role works 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and includes weekend and holiday requirements. The unit has a 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio and one patient care technician for every 10–11 patients. The nurse delivers patient care using the nursing process: assessing patients, planning and providing care, and evaluating interventions. The role incorporates age-specific safety and infection-control measures, responds to patients’ and significant others’ information needs, and maintains continuity of care across shifts and hospitals, including during expedited transfers out of the hospital. Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited nursing program or nursing diploma.
At least one year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program.
RN license required upon hire.
BCLS certification required before providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred.
