About The Position

Southwoods Health is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in its perioperative endoscopy setting at the Main Surgical Hospital in Boardman, Ohio. The nurse guides care throughout the endoscopy process, from intake through recovery, including clinical assessment, implementation of the care plan, medication administration, and ongoing evaluation of patient outcomes to support safety and comfort.

The role includes preoperative assessment in Pre-Op Holding and post-procedural recovery and discharge care in the PACU. The nurse monitors patients, documents clinical status and treatment responses, and ensures perioperative processes comply with applicable guidelines. Available schedules are 32 hours per week over four weekday day shifts or 40 hours per week over five weekday day shifts. Shifts rotate between 5:45 AM–2:15 PM and 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There are no evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Requirements

• Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State of Ohio.
• Have current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrate exceptional critical-thinking skills and decisive leadership.
• Be able to clearly articulate complex clinical data.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough preoperative assessments in Pre-Op Holding.
• Manage post-procedural recovery and discharge protocols in the PACU.
• Monitor patients for changes in status and carry out appropriate clinical interventions.
• Document patient clinical status and responses to treatment, keeping the multidisciplinary team updated.
• Ensure perioperative care processes comply with OSHA, The Joint Commission (TJC), and Ohio Department of Health (ODH) guidelines.
• Advocate for patient privacy while using clinical resources cost-effectively.
• Provide clinical assessment, implement care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient outcomes throughout the endoscopy process.
