About The Position

The Clinical Nurse II provides professional nursing care through assessment and accurate documentation, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to support patients’ comfort and well-being. The nurse carries out a plan of care aligned with unit competencies and the target patient population, and coordinates care delivery and education in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team providers to ensure safe, effective, quality care. The role follows organizational policies for safe patient care and requires the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Other duties may be assigned as required; responsibilities and duties may vary by unit or department.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Associate Degree in Nursing. ADN-prepared nurses hired after February 24, 2017, must complete a BSN by their fifth anniversary of employment as an RN with UKHA.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Clinical Nurse.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN), single-state Kansas license or compact license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 14 days.

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
