About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health plans, directs, coordinates, and provides high-quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process. The position reports to the Nursing Director/Shift Manager and is subject to overtime, shift work, working holidays and weekends, standby, and callback assignments. The role requires behavioral health knowledge and the ability to interact with and manage patients who may be combative.

Requirements

• Graduation with an Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Knowledge of psychodynamic principles and fundamentals of psychotherapy.
• Knowledge of basic diagnostic categories of mental illness.
• Knowledge of psychopharmacology, disease entities and interventions, and nursing skills and procedures.
• Ability to interact with and manage patients who may be combative.
• Current California Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) behavioral management training is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
