About The Position

The Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) at St. Rita's Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The role uses organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implements clinical nursing interventions, develops and performs patient care plans to improve outcomes, and helps ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. The position is full-time nights on the Med-Surg Renal Telemetry (6K) unit. New graduates are welcome to apply; the role could be eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• One year of RN experience is required.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support is preferred upon hire and must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support is preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, understand charting, and assess patient condition.
• Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
