Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Unit
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Medical Unit at St Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota. The role provides care for patients with neurological conditions, respiratory conditions, general medical diagnoses, and post-procedural needs. The RN manages all phases of the patient care process, leads and delegates care responsibilities to nursing staff, contributes to the facility’s and Essentia’s mission, and follows applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. The position is 0.75 FTE, with 60 hours per pay period and 12-hour day/night rotating shifts. Shifts are 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. Work is required every third weekend and on holidays. There is no call obligation.
Requirements
- BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing.
- Current nursing licensure in the state(s) of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month.
Responsibilities
- Organize and deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Lead the care team and delegate responsibilities to nursing staff according to their licensure, training, and role specifications.
- Contribute to the facility’s and Essentia’s mission and goals and serve the community.
- Comply with Joint Commission standards and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting requirements.
