Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care
About The Position
Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit. The RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process and applicable standards of practice, carries out care interventions, monitors and documents patient conditions, and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse also supports patients and families through education and advocacy and participates in performance improvement and continuing education. This is a full-time night position with a 6:30–7:00 schedule and rotating weekends. The role offers a $15,000 bonus with a two-year commitment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- BCLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Handle with Care certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
