About The Position

This is an internal 13-week Registered Nurse assignment at Wilkes-Barre Specialty, paying $70 per hour. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the RN uses the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care for patients admitted to the nursing unit. The RN plans, coordinates, and provides patient care, including interdisciplinary and discharge planning, patient and family education for post-hospitalization, and access to community resources. The RN may perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse duties; ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Requirements

• Hold an RN license in the state where applying.
• Hold current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification is required after 90 days of employment; it is required from day one for Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
• Comfort working with ventilators, tracheostomies, PICC lines, and similar equipment.
• Two years of experience in direct patient care.
• Current ACLS certification initially; it is preferred, though it is required after 90 days of employment for applicable roles.

Responsibilities
