About The Position

The Sentara Heart Hospital, a 112-bed care facility, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Cath Holding Department. This unit prepares and recovers patients for various procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, Minor Procedure Room, and Cardiac OR. The department is open Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 11 PM, and is closed on major holidays. The average daily patient volume is approximately 40-50 patients. Procedures include Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology procedures, Cardioversions, surgery, and ICDs/Pacemakers. The RN is responsible for competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards include ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Virginia RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.
  • 1+ years of bedside nursing experience.
  • All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • Telemetry -Cardiac experience preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
