About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Cardiac Cath Holding Room, Night Shift. This full-time position involves preparing and recovering patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiology procedures. The role requires providing specialized care, ensuring safe transitions, close monitoring, and patient education in a fast-paced procedural environment. The team is expanding, and this is a great opportunity for nurses interested in pre and post-operative recovery in this specialty. Occasional Saturday rotation is required.

Requirements

LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
Relevant Work Experience
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
1 year of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
