Registered Nurse (RN) - Northridge Asthma Allergy & Immunology, Outpatient
About The Position
This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at Northridge Asthma Allergy & Immunology, an outpatient setting. The nurse is expected to be a capable clinician focused on expanding knowledge and skills, providing effective direct care to complex patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include managing care, implementing treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members, and seeking/providing feedback for improved clinical practice. The role involves a beginning leadership role with mentoring. The job description aligns with the AAACN Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Ambulatory Care Nursing, the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, integrated with the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective direct care to a variety of complex patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Manage care and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
- Seek and provide feedback for improved clinical practice.
- Assume a beginning leadership role with mentoring.
- Protect, promote, and optimize health and abilities, prevent illness and injury, facilitate healing, and alleviate suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities and populations.
- Reflect the influence of the nurse's relationship with self, colleagues, and patient/family on the patient's experience.
- Demonstrate clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and implementation of care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and actively participate in shared governance.
- Engage in professional development through formal education, professional certification, and internal and external learning opportunities.
- Support onboarding of new team members and precept as applicable.
- Adhere to clinical documentation guidelines.
- Comprehend outcomes data.
