About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers exceptional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department at Perrysburg Medical Center. The role assesses patient status, determines the priority of patient problems and needs, implements clinical nursing interventions, and develops and performs care plans to improve outcomes. The nurse uses a diverse skill set and helps ensure a safe, therapeutic environment while caring for patients ranging from short-stay cases to trauma in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited associate's or bachelor's degree program in nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS Basic Life Support, or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, preferred at hire; required from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS and PALS must be obtained within six months of hire.
• One year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse.

Nice To Haves

• Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience is preferred but not required.
• EPIC Electronic Health Record training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Care for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team focused on patient and population outcomes.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate planned and expected outcomes.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Provide care to a broad spectrum of patients, from short-stay patients to trauma patients.
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
