Registered Nurse, RN (Full Time-Nights) – Labor and Delivery. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231. Work hours: Full Time-36 Hours, 7:00pm – 7:00am with rotating weekends. Labor & Delivery department highlights: 375 – 400 deliveries per month, Level IV Maternal Designation, The only Maternal Transport Team at Texas Health, Long tenured team. Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
- RN – Registered Nurse (Required upon hire)
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required prior to providing independent patient care; maintained quarterly)
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Essential) (Required within 90 days of hire)
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required within 90 days of hire)
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required within 90 days of hire)
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (Required within 90 days of hire; maintained annually)
- IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (If newly hired with experience in perinatal nursing and never taken IFM: Required within 6 months)
- IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (If no experience in perinatal nursing: Required within 18 months)
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- At least 1 year of RN L&D experience (Strongly Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
