About The Position

The Registered Nurse performs nursing functions and supervises other RNs, LPNs, and other assistive personnel in the performance of nursing care according to the state nurse practice act. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, plans and implements patient care, and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided. This role involves CARE ACROSS THE LIFESPAN, assessing and interpreting data to effectively communicate and adapt techniques for administering medications and treatments, educating and involving patients' families in care for ages and populations served. The nurse will assess and plan patient care considering biophysical, psychosocial, and spiritual patient care needs, establish patient goals, select interventions, and document the plan of care in the Electronic Health Record, while setting priorities and utilizing personnel appropriately. Patient intervention and evaluation includes providing safe and effective nursing care, administering medications, nutritional supplements, IV fluids, and blood products per policy, educating the patient/significant other regarding their disease process and discharge planning, and coordinating patient care with other departments. The role also requires recognizing changes in the patient's condition, taking action, requesting assistance as necessary, and participating in multi-disciplinary patient care planning conferences. Documentation must be in compliance with hospital policy and procedures and regulatory agency requirements. The professional development aspect involves being responsible for knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory agency rules and regulations, hospital policies and procedures, and standards of nursing practice, evaluating self, and meeting pre-established professional goals, and participating in required annual hospital-wide and nursing continuing education. As a TEAM MEMBER, the nurse will act as a resource to students, new employees, and other personnel, assist other staff members in providing care, attend unit staff meetings and mandatory in-services, and show consideration for the team by reporting on time for shifts and taking only allotted break times. The nurse will also assist in the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Requirements

Georgia Registered Nurse License or Multistate Nursing License
Healthcare Provider (CPR) or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
ACLS within 6 months of hire into ED, ICU, Surgery, PACU, L&D, SSU if taking GI call, or Cath Lab.
NRP within one year of hire into Nursery and L&D.
PALS within one year of hire in PACU.
SCIPP required within 90 days of hire into Willowbrooke.
Qualifications as designated in Nursing Clinical Ladder Policy.
