About The Position

The Nursery at Wilson Medical Center is comprised of a well-baby nursery as well as a 2-bed level II nursery serving newborns greater than 32 weeks gestation. The nursery provides care to more than 800 newborns annually. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will excel in this role by accurately performing patient assessments and identifying patient needs, identifying and initiating appropriate nursing interventions, providing care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, performing timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record, and being responsible for the completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.

Requirements

Current state RN license
Degree from an accredited nursing school
Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
One year of experience required
Compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring

Responsibilities

Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
