About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Wound Care team. This role will be full-time, 4 9-hour days per week; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., no weekends and no holidays. Requirements

  • BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

  • Recent wound care RN experience.
  • Recent experience with Inova’s Wound Care Centers.
  • Prior hospital experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc.
  • Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to plans of care.
  • Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes. Adapts standards and guidelines for individual patients. Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs including cultural, ethical and spiritual needs.
  • Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options). Responds to changes in patients' needs and provides holistic caring.
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
  • Actively advocates for patients' rights and identifies potential conflicts.
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and families by modifying teaching strategies or content
  • Performs other duties as assigned
