About The Position

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Wound Care team. This role will be full-time, 4 9-hour days per week; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., no weekends and no holidays. Requirements

  • BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Nice To Haves

  • Recent wound care RN experience.
  • Recent experience with Inova’s Wound Care Centers.
  • Prior hospital experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc.
  • Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning.
  • Identifies variances from expected outcomes.
  • Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to plans of care.
  • Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes.
  • Adapts standards and guidelines for individual patients.
  • Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs including cultural, ethical and spiritual needs.
  • Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options).
  • Responds to changes in patients' needs and provides holistic caring.
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
  • Actively advocates for patients' rights and identifies potential conflicts.
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care.
  • Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems.
  • Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and families by modifying teaching strategies or content
  • Performs other duties as assigned
