About The Position

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Vascular unit. This unit specializes in caring for patients with complex vascular and circulatory conditions, as well as general medical and post-surgical needs. Patients may have conditions such as peripheral vascular disease, arterial and venous disorders, wound complications, and chronic conditions requiring monitoring and education. The RN will work collaboratively with vascular surgeons, hospitalists, wound care specialists, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Nurses on this unit have the opportunity to earn dialysis certification as part of their professional development.

Requirements

• Current Alabama or compact state RN license
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS are required within six months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Two-three years of experience preferred
• New grads welcome to apply

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
