About The Position

Tower 8 is a 30 bed Trauma Unit in the Level 1 Trauma Center on Cleveland’s Eastside. Our patients include Trauma Activations–from the ED, PACU after surgery, the TSICU, and also transfers from other hospitals. Trauma. Our goal is to bring passion and energy to the bedside, foster engagement and teamwork, and promote collaboration with all members of the healthcare team. At University Hospitals, nurses have always been our front-line caregivers. Every day, they care for patients of all ages – from newborns to seniors – expertly blending compassion with advanced knowledge, technical skills and professional integrity.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
1 year of RN experience required
Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program.
Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Participate in annual training, adhere to the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
