Registered Nurse (RN) Transition to NICU
About The Position
Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an RN Fellow (experienced Nurse new to the NICU specialty) to join the NICU with a Fellowship start date of January 4, 2027. The RN Fellowship program is designed to develop the necessary clinical skills to practice nursing competently within a specified service line. The RN Fellow will learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various other training formats, acquiring new knowledge and skills to meet program objectives and practice in the assigned patient care setting. Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital is a nationally recognized, 226-bed hospital offering comprehensive medical services for younger patients. It is home to the largest, most comprehensive subspecialty neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the region, with 108 beds and Level IV care, recognized by The Joint Commission for its high level of care for premature birth patients.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing. Applicants with an Associate’s Degree (ADN) must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
- Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.

- One year minimum of current inpatient RN experience
Responsibilities

- Participate in learning new knowledge, developing new skills, and meeting program objectives.
- Practice in assigned patient care delivery setting utilizing and applying new knowledge.
