Registered Nurse (RN) Temporary Contract
About The Position
AMG Specialty Hospital - Houma is seeking Temporary Contract Registered Nurses (RN) for All Shifts. This assignment is a 13-week contract with a higher rate of pay. The role involves direct and indirect patient care in a long-term acute care setting. Nurses will be responsible for managing patients with complex medical needs, including respiratory failure requiring various forms of ventilation support, sedation/pain management, pressor management, cardiac/anti-arrhythmic management, complicated infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics, and chronic non-healing wounds requiring extensive treatment. The ability to communicate effectively with physicians and co-workers about patient conditions, respond quickly to changes in patient status, and perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision is essential.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Able to communicate effectively and positively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- ICU, Critical Care or Step-Down experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting.
- Manage patients with complex medical needs, including respiratory failure requiring ventilation, vapotherm, high flow, bipap, cpap, and nasal cannula.
- Administer sedation/pain management, pressor management, and cardiac/anti-arrhythmic management as needed.
- Treat complicated infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics.
- Provide extensive treatment for chronic non-healing wounds, including wound vacs and frequent dressing changes.
- Communicate with physicians and co-workers about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
