About The Position

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. This is a 26-bed post-operative surgical unit with 16 telemetry beds. It is a fast-paced unit caring for patients with Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynecology, and Plastic Surgery populations, managing abdominal drains, wound VACS’s, PCA’s, epidurals, and tube feedings. Approximately 75% of patients are admitted from the PACU or as stepdown from the Surgical ICU. The unit manages the care of 4-5 patients on day and PM shifts and 5-6 patients on the night shift. 3EF can manage patients on various drips including insulin, ketamine, dobutamine, heparin, and angiomax. This unit is ideal for experienced Med-Surg nurses seeking to advance their skills and for new graduate nurses looking to develop into more advanced clinical settings like ICU, ED, OR, and NP. The unit is a top performer in quality outcomes and has a high rate of certified nurses, demonstrating a commitment to excellent clinical practice and patient outcomes. Shared Governance is integral to the unit culture, giving nurses and nursing assistants a strong voice in daily operations. 3EF achieved top team member engagement scores in 2021.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
