The Surgical Observation unit is located in the West PACU space for patients to transition to from PACU and discharge the following day. There is a possibility that the patients may be Med/Surg or PCU status and require transfer to an inpatient unit from this space rather than discharging home. It will be more unique in that it is heavily connected with PACU and may not have the same feel as an inpatient unit and will provide opportunity for upskilling.
