About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgery department utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. This role provides expert care and education to patients in the perioperative setting, acting as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in all surgical procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents, and manages patient loads within assigned timelines. This position is for a Full-Time, 0.9 FTE role working 12-hour shifts starting at 06:30. Weekend call coverage is required on a rotating basis, from Friday evening 5pm or 7pm through Sunday evening 7pm, with a 20-minute response time. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered with a two (2) year commitment. This opportunity is open to external applicants who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate’s degree from accredited nursing school
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • ACLS within three (3) months of hire
  • Recent experience within last five (5) years in the perioperative field
  • Complete moderate sedation course within three (3) months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Charge Nurse experience preferred
