About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Surgery Center Pre/Post unit at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care. The RN will utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, and communication skills to ensure the safest patient environment and best patient experience. Responsibilities include the circulator role, which involves performing time outs, positioning patients, maintaining a sterile and safe environment, preparing the OR with necessary supplies, checking inventory, and documenting all aspects of the procedure. The Surgery Center services ophthalmology, ortho, and plastics, and includes a call rotation to cover Ophthalmology emergent cases. This position is 0.9 FTE, working 36 hours a week with a start time that varies between 0500-0800. Weekday, weekend, and holiday call are required.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • One year experience in procedural care
