About The Position

This is a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor position on the 10T Medical Telemetry Unit at Carolinas Medical Center. The unit is known for piloting innovative work and has a well-rounded, knowledgeable, and expert team, particularly in handling COVID-19 patients. The unit provides inpatient care 24 hours a day to adult patients (18+) with acute medical and/or surgical conditions, including those with multiple comorbidities. They manage a wide range of diagnoses such as COPD, diabetes, chest pain, shortness of breath, pneumonia, fever of unknown etiology, and fluid & electrolyte imbalances. The unit is equipped to monitor up to 16 patients with telemetry and administer/monitor cardiac drips. The RN Supervisor will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. They will utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • 6 months of RN experience
  • BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
  • Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.
